Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita - Neva Mae (Dunbar) Huffman, 78 year old Vinita resident, died Sunday morning, February 16, 2014 at the Heartsworth Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on September 2, 1935 in Vinita to James E. and Faye (Stotts) Dunbar. Neva was a graduate of Bluejacket High School, where she was a standout basketball player. She had worked at NOCC as switchboard operator, retiring in 2010. Neva had previously lived in Winfield and Arkansas City, Kansas as well as Miami. She enjoyed sewing, traveling and watching QVC. Neva was a member of the St. John's Episcopal Church in Vinita and the Order of the Eastern Star. Preceding her in death were two sons, James "Jim" Huffman in 2005, Harold "Butch" Huffman in 2011, siblings, James "Jiggs" Dunbar, Clifford Dunbar, Nina Osborn and Naida Wilson; and great-grandchild Tanner Chisum. The family includes: her son, Jeff Huffman and wife Brenda of Vinita, daughters in-law, Ginny Huffman of Muskogee, Linda Huffman of Joplin; special friend, Margie Worsham of Yukon; nine grandchildren, twenty two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. The graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fairview Cemetery in Vinita, with Rev. JoAnne Wright officiating.
