Nina Cowardin

Nina Ruth Cowardin 91, Passed away at her home in Vinita on Friday, May 5, 2006. She was born on June 9, 1914 in Bluejacket, OK to Henry and Ellen (Cauthorn) Smith. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Vinita. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Ellen Smith, and her husband Fred Cowardin Sr. Survivors include her son Fred Cowardin and his wife Betty of Port Charlotte, FL, her daughter Ruth Mary Bland of Abilene, KS, Grandchildren, Stanley Cowardin and his wife Rita of Lagrange, KY, Chardell Atwood of Abilene, KS, Wayne L. Bland and his wife Marlene of Elizabeth Town, KY, E. Renee Zimbleman and her husband Don of Moran, KS, and Jennifer Bland of Abilene, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She also has a brother Kenneth Smith and his wife Wilma of Vinita and a sister Fern Williams and her husband Ed of California. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Vinita with Reverend Fred Cowardin Jr., Reverend Don Smith and Reverend Jack Frasier officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Vinita under the direction of the Luginbuel Funeral Home. Casketbearers will be Chester Loveless, Robert Mann, Skip Briley, Bill Haire, Russell Gordon and Charles Hankins. The Family will be receiving friends from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita, OK on Monday, May 8, 2006.
