Nona Mae "Spud" Wyckoff Funeral services for Nona Mae "Spud" Wyckoff will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 19, 2007, at the Benjamin Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend John Presko officiating. Services are under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Home, of Nowata. Nona Mae "Spud" Wyckoff was born February 15, 1927, in Bristow, Oklahoma, to William and Gladys (Wilson) Bush. She passed from this life January 14, 2007, in Joplin, Missouri, after reaching 79 years, 10 months, and 29 days. She graduated from Bristow High School and continued her education at Mineral Wells Business College in Texas. On September 22, 1972 she married Jacob Hubert "Bud" Wyckoff in Fort Scott, Kansas. About 25 years ago they moved to Seneca, Missouri. They loved to travel. Every winter would travel to Mission, Texas, and spend a few months there. "Spud" as all her friends knew her, was a member of the Sweet Adelines, and the ESA Sorority. She enjoyed gardening, reading and cooking for her family. She will be missed by all who knew her. Preceding Mrs. Wyckoff in death are her parents, William and Gladys Bush; and a sister Louise Osborne. Surviving Mrs. Wyckoff are her husband, Bud Wyckoff, of Nowata; children, Phil McGowan, and wife Kathy, of Joplin, Missouri, Robert McGowan, of Aransas Pass, Texas, Patricia Shippey, and husband Dean, of Hobbs New Mexico; step-children, Mike Wyckoff, and wife Nancy, of Nowata, Judy Martin, and husband Pete, of Nowata; sisters Jerva Cackler, of Cushing, Oklahoma, Donna Caudle, of Mannford, Oklahoma, Billie Jo Nelson, of Arkansas City, Kansas; twelve grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
