Nora Frances Low, 100, died Thursday, at Barnsdall Nursing Home. Mrs. Low was born on February 16, 1910 in Bronson, Ks the daughter of Robert Morris and Alice Jane McGuire. As a child she was a "farm girl". On February 17, 1929 she was united in marriage with Riley E. Low in Bronson, Ks. For 35 years they made their home in Pryor where she helped her husband in the chicken hatchery. Then in 1972 they moved to Barnsdall. Riley preceded her in death 1991. Mrs. Low was an avid reader and enjoyed raising a big garden every year. She canned many of her garden vegetables. She was a member of the Barnsdall Christian Church. Mrs. Low is survived by her two children Farol Hightower of Barnsdall and Darrell Low of Claremore, two sisters Elsie Leake of Humboldt, Ks and Rosalie Serl of Ontario, California, four grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband Riley E. Low, her parents, three sisters, four brothers and one grandson. Memorial services for Mrs. Low will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the Barnsdall First Christian Church.
