Norma Hornback

Norma A. Hornback, age 85, and longtime resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2013, at her home. Norma Allene Powell was born on September 30, 1927 in Coffeyville, Kansas. She was the daughter of William Powell and Hermena (Gable) Powell. She was raised in the Coffeyville area and graduated from Coffeyville, Kansas High School. She furthered her education by attending Coffeyville Jr. College. On August 28, 1948 Norma and Daniel Boone Hornback, Jr. were united in marriage in Coffeyville, Kansas. Three children were born of this union. Norma was a wonderful homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She will be missed by all her family and many friends. Norma was a member of the Disciples Christian Church, as well as the Sarah Group at the church. She was adept at technology, emailing and face booking. She enjoyed reading on her Kindle, worked crosswords and word games. She also enjoyed traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother; and her husband. She is survived by her three children, Norma C."Bobbe" Hornback of Dewey, Oklahoma, Sandra Hornback Jones and her husband, Scott, of Angel Fire, New Mexico, and Dee Anne Blair and her husband, Mark, of Germantown, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Jason Daniel Blair and his wife, Heather, of Eagleville, Tennessee, and Kristen Blair Bowman and her husband, Ben, of Germantown, Tennessee; and three great-grandchildren, Carter Blair, Will Bowman and Jacob Bowman. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bartlesville, 320 S.E. Delaware Ave., Suite 4, Bartlesville, OK 74003 or to the Bartlesville Salvation Army, 101 N. Bucy Ave., Bartlesville, OK 74003. Memorial services for Mrs. Hornback will be held on Wednesday, February 27, at 11:00 AM, in the Disciples Christian Church, 5800 Douglas Lane, Bartlesville. Pastor Bill Inglish will be the officiant. The family will greet friends prior to the service time on Wednesday, from 10:00 -10:45 AM, at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home.
