Benjamin Funeral Service - Nowata, Oklahoma Norma Lee Imogene Cole January was born to William Lee (Bill) and Arkie Edna Duncan Cole in Delaware County on March 21st, 1922. They later moved to the oilfield camps in Moore, Oklahoma and this is where she graduated from High School in 1939. She then attended Hills Business College in Oklahoma City. And after moving to Nowata she later attended Bartlesville Success Business College. She married Marvin Lawrence January on May 19th, 1939 in Moore, Oklahoma. They lived in Moore until 1950. At that time they bought a farm south of Nowata and moved there so they could continue their farming and dairy operation. In 1961 she started work at the Victory National Bank in Nowata and worked there 24 years before retiring in 1985. For 22 years she also headed up the Salvation Army program in Nowata. Norma became a Christian early in life and was a member of the Hillside Christian Church. Norma is survived by one son, Bill, and his wife Zita and their daughters Morgan Albert and husband Todd, of Caribou, Maine and Spenser January of Oklahoma City. And several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren who live in Texas and belong to her deceased son Max. Norma was preceded by both her parents, her husband Marvin, a son Max, a sister Lorraine Patrick, and a brother JB Cole, and two grandchildren, Mark January and Marilee Cook both of Texas. Graveside services are 10:00 A.M., Monday, March 30, 2015 at Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery with Ben Killion officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Benjamin Funeral Service.
