Norma Alene LaFremier passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at her home in Nowata surrounded by her daughters. She was born November 2, 1939 in LaHabra, California to Harvey and Alene (King) Ridenhour. Norma graduated from LaHabra High School and continued her education at Fullerton Jr. College in California. On April 29, 1961 she married Henry James LaFremier and they moved to the Nowata area in 1970. She earned her cosmetology license from Tri County Tech in Bartlesville, Oklahoma and worked as a beautician in Nowata for many years. Norma had many hobbies including oil painting, sewing, gardening, home improvement projects, and doing all types of crafts. She loved shopping, cooking, and watching "The Price is Right" and "Wheel of Fortune" on TV. Norma's greatest love was that of her family. She was so close to her children and grandchildren and anything she could do to spend time and care for them she would do. She will be missed by all who knew her. Norma is survived by four daughters, Jennel and her husband Steve Wood of Bartlesville, OK., Michelle LaFremier of Nowata, Lanette and her husband Russ Kramer of Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania, Kristi and her husband Jeremy Showalter of Lyons, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Kelsey Wood, Zach Wood, Jakob Kramer, Alec Kramer, Wyatt Showalter, Deacon Showalter, Greta Showalter; eight siblings, Dwayne Ridenhour and his wife Gloria, Dale Ridenhour and his wife Rhonda, Greg Ridenhour and his wife Kathy, Steven Gailey and his wife Debbie, Gloria and her husband Jim Wall, Diane McKinney, Janis and her husband Rick Dawson, Deborah McMains; sisters-in-law Lillian Corville and Renie Rutledge, numerous nieces and nephews, grand-dog Penny and a host of other relatives. Norma is preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Alene Ridenhour; her step-mother, Lorraine Ridenhour; her husband, Henry James LaFremier; a son, Jason LaFremier; one grandson, Christopher Wood; a brother, Darwin Ridenhour; a sister, Doris McKinney.
