Norman Snider

July 12, 1930 — November 13, 2012

Norman Gene Snider, 82 year old well known resident of the Coves at Bird Island, died Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Tulsa. He was born on July 12, 1930 in Dewey, Oklahoma to Ralph Lee and Goldie Alice (Mason) Snider. Norman married the love of his life Ruth Ann Tesh on December 21, 1952. They had lived in Bartlesville, Sand Springs and the last 25 years at the Coves. Norman worked as a master photographer for Herman's Studio, and Citi Service Petroleum which later became Occidental Petroleum Company where he retired from. Norman and Ruth travelled all over the world many times, including Germany's Rhine River, Russia and South Africa. He was an excellent shot with a shotgun, winning many state and national competitions. Norman was a founding member of both the Bartlesville Gun Club and the Bird Island Gun Club. He was an active member of the Cleora United Methodist Church. Norman and his good sense of humor will be missed by many. The family includes: his wife Ruth Ann of the home; brother Sherril Lee Snider and wife Delores of Dewey; sister Connie Oder and husband Robert of Bartlesville; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Lorren Ray Snider. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 16, 2012 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cleora United Methodist Church, with Rev. Stephen Nation officiating. Donations can be made to Cleora Methodist Church. Interment will follow at the McLaughlin Cemetery near Cleora. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com. Arrangements are by the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita.
