Luginbuel Funeral Home - Vinita - 918-256-5555....... Norman Eugene Tuell, 84 year old Big Cabin resident, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, November 27, 2014. Norman was born in Stilwell on February 27, 1930 to Walter and Wilma (Claphan) Tuell. He attended grade school at Centerview School north of Big Cabin and graduated from Big Cabin High School. In May of 1952 he was united in marriage to Geneva Dawson. January of that same year he joined the United States Navy and worked on the U.S.S. Hector repairing ships. The Korean War was under way and he and his shipmates made several trips back and forth repairing ships. He saw everything from the fires near Korea to facing typhoons. In January of 1956 he was discharged and returned home working for Lane Oil Co and later Rockwell International. He spent his final working years employed with Boeing as a machinist. After his retirement he enjoyed working on his farm and with his cattle. He was an active member of the Big Cabin Baptist Church where he served as deacon. Survivors include his wife Geneva of 63 years, son Rick Tuell and wife Sherry of Pryor and daughter Kathy McCoy of Tulsa, three grandchildren: Bradley McCoy of Des Moines, IA, Cassie Huckaby of Tulsa, and Phillip McCoy of Tulsa, four great grandchildren, and one niece Ginger Fields and one nephew Kasey Fields. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Wayne and sister Virginia. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Monday, December 1, 2014 at the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at the Big Cabin Baptist Church with Pastor Shane Culp officiating. Interment will follow at Big Cabin Cemetery.
