Nyla M. Wright, 91 year-old resident of McKinney, Texas, died late Sunday, February 10, 2008 at the Baybrooke Village of McKinney. She was born April 14, 1916 in Centralia, Oklahoma to George and Emma (Duncan) Costley. Nyla attended Centralia Schools graduating in 1934; she continued her education at the Southeast Kansas Nursing School in Coffeyville, Kansas. Nyla worked as a Registered Nurse in Oregon, California, Illinois and lastly at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, where she retired in 1981. Nyla moved to Denison, Texas from Tulsa in year 2000 and then to Baybrooke Village in May of 2007. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Nyla loved to travel extensively in the U. S.; she also had been to England, Holland, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Australia, and British Columbia. The family includes; her nieces and nephews, JoAnn Edwards, George E. Flanders, Evelyn Cole, L'Donna Trapp, Leland Costley, Sherry Sunderland, Doug Costley, Allen Costley, and Byron Costley. Preceding her in death, were her parents, a nephew, D. B. Flanders, brothers and sisters, L. D. Costley, Myron Costley, Vaughn Costley, Clara Cox, Veva Hughlett, and Oleta Kirby. The funeral service will be held, Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Henry "Skip" McClain officiating. Private interment will be at a later date at the Friendship Cemetery near Hallowell, Kansas. Online condolences can be made at www.honoringmemories.com.
