Oliver G. Woolman, 91 year old well-known Vinita resident, died Sunday, March 3, 2013 at the Craig General Hospital in Vinita. He was born September 23, 1921 in Craig County to Ora Claude "Pat" Woolman and Lizzie (Jenkins) Woolman. Oliver was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. Oliver married Wilma Hanna on October 12, 1949 in Vinita. Oliver owned and operated "Oliver's 66" service station on South Wilson in Vinita for many years, after retirement he worked cattle for many neighbors and ranches in the area, along with raising his own cattle, dogs and horses on his farm. He enjoyed rodeos, roping events and watching his family compete at rodeos and ropings, the kids and grandkids at ballgames and other events. Oliver used to like to quail and pheasant hunt, and collecting arrowheads. The surviving family include: his wife Wilma of the home; four children, Aronda Hajek and husband Danny of Hennessey, Oklahoma, Tee Woolman and wife Jacque of Llano, Texas, Arrahwanna Leake and husband Keith of Vinita, Oowala Stoner and husband Darren of Fairfield, Texas; grandchildren, Jena Jo Fuller and husband Greg, James Hajek, Dacie Smith and husband Jason, Walker Woolman, Dryce Stoner, Brittany Leake, Brandon Leake, Chenoia Leake; great-grandchild, Ryan Leake; siblings, Gladys Boesel of Farmington, NM, Vivian Finnell of Pryor, Shirley Helton of Liberty, MO, Mary Thompson and husband Harley of Ramona, Kathryn Phillips and husband Sam of Hot Springs, AR, Virgil Woolman and wife Buddy of Vinita, numerous other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, a baby daughter, siblings, Ray, Thurman and Otis D. "Speedy" Woolman, and Beatrice Gray. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March, 7, 2013 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel. Casket bearers will be his grandson's, Dryce Stoner, Walker Woolman, James Hajek, Jason Smith, Greg Fuller and Brandon Leake; honorary bearers will be; Mark Chamberlain, Henry Collins, Tom Andris, Wade Sherrick, Monty Nail, Kent Hall, Bob Kerby, Jack Warden, Loren Duncan, David Johnson, John Barnes, and Jay Hensley. The life celebration will be held Friday, March 8, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at the Craig County Community Center at the Fairgrounds in Vinita, with Pastor Wade Markham officiating.
