Olivia Sanders

Funeral services for Olivia W. Sanders will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 19, 2011 at the Benjamin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Prady Thimmaiah officiating. Interment will follow at Sanders Cemetery. Olivia Sanders, 88, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at her home in Nowata. She was born on June 8, 1923 in Fairmount, West Virginia. Olivia graduated from Fairmount High School and continued her education at a secretarial college. In 1981 she married Charles Sanders in Denver, Colorado. In 1983 they moved to Nowata and have made their home here since. Olivia was a member of the New Church of the Nazarene in Nowata. She enjoyed quilting and making handbags and handkerchiefs. She was a really diligent worker and loved making these articles. Her church was very important to her as was her husband and family. She will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors of Olivia include her husband, Charles Sanders, a daughter, Vanessa of Denver, Colorado, a step-son, Darryl Sanders of Ohio. She also has three grandchildren, Michael Whitstone, Drake Sanders, and Gabrielle Sanders. Mrs. Sanders was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and one sister.
