Luginbuel Funeral Home - Vinita - 918-256-5555..... Omer Bowdin Williams, 87 year old Vinita resident, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2016. Omer was born on January 14, 1929 to Ossie and Anna Maria (Cline) Williams. Omer was a hard worker. At age 14 he started working in a bowling alley in Wichita, Kansas. From 1951-1953 he served in the United States Army, serving in Japan during the Korean Conflict. He worked in the aircraft industry at Douglas Aircraft in Tulsa in 1956 and Boeing in Wichita from 1957-1960. He owned and operated White Oak Mill from 1960-1967. He also worked as a heavy equipment operator for 22 years for Peabody Coal Company, retiring in 1991. On June 4, 1955 he was united in marriage to the love of his life C. Patricia "Pat" Santee and together they raised two sons. Omer was an active member of Bunker Hill Baptist Church, the United Mine Workers of America, and was former President of the Heartland Sooner Chapter of the America Truck Historical Society. Survivors include his wife Pat Williams of the home, sons: Andy Williams and wife Delanna of Owasso and Roy Williams and wife Patricia of Vinita, grandchildren: Alyssa Albin of Tulsa and Deric Williams and wife Emily of Tulsa, great grandchildren: Isabella Solnok of Broken Arrow and Damian Albin of Tulsa. He is preceded in death by his parents, twin brother, Thomas E. "Tom" Williams, and his wife, Lavonne. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Bunker Hill Baptist Church with Roy Williams, Pastor Skip McClain, and Pastor Scott Dickerson officiating.
