Opal Risman

Opal Pearl (Wright) Risman, age 86, died Monday January 19, 2009 in Dodge City, Kansas. Opal was born in Vinita, Oklahoma on September 4, 1922 to Lee and Nellie (Hunt) Wright. She spent most of her life in the Vinita area, graduating from Cleora High School. She was united in marriage to Eddie Risman in January of 1945 and together they raised two sons. Her hobbies included sewing, reading, cooking, and loving on her grandkids. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Eddie, and five sisters. Survivors include her two sons Gary Risman and wife Sylvia of Dodge City, Kansas Eddie Risman and wife Mary of Grove, Oklahoma, one sister Frankie White and husband Bill of Vinita, Oklahoma, 8 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday January 23, 2009 at Luginbuel Funeral Chapel in Vinita. Pastor Skip McClain will be officiating. Internment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
