Orren Drake

Orren Bell Drake, 97-year-old Copan resident, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at her home. Funeral services for Mrs. Drake will be held at 2:00p.m., Friday, July 25, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church in Copan with Rev. Bill Wright officiating. Interment will follow in the Dewey Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 6-7pm Thursday, July 24, 2008. Orren Bell Drake was born May 12, 1911 in Dewey, Oklahoma. Her loving parents, Ora and Roy Bowersock raised her in Dewey. As an adult, she was involved in many clubs such as the Home Demonstration Club, the Copan Club, the VFW Women's Auxiliary, and the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Drake was a Trustee for the Senior Citizens Center and was very active in her church. Mrs. Drake was a loving mother who raised 2 children of her own while also raising 24 other children over the years. She will be remembered as a "spirited" and alert right up to the time of her passing. In death, Mrs. Drake is joined with her two daughters Shirley and Iris. She is survived by her children, Barbara and her husband Jerry Wood, Leroy Drake, Elroy Drake, Dianna and her husband Joe Persanti, Devona Lee and her husband Don Guy, and by friends Hellen Howard and Dornella. In life she carried great devotion and faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ. She loved with all of her heart and will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends, but will remain forever in our hearts.
