Orville Lewis Banks, 68 year old Vinita resident, died Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at his home. He was born February 27, 1940 in Kansas City, Missouri to Walter and Gladys Ethel (Wilson) Banks. Orville graduated high school in Kansas City and lived there until 1974, when he moved to the Vinita area. He was retired from Eastern State Hospital where he worked in the custodial department, after retirement he worked as a deputy sheriff for J. D. Baldridge. Orville was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Nazarene Church in Vinita. He loved to fish, hunt, camp, shoot, listen to his music and having fun with his friends and family. The family includes: a son J. R. Banks of Broken Arrow, a daughter, Trenda Banks-Johnson of Kansas City, Missouri; three grandchildren, Jasmine Nichol, Jacob Nathaniel and Jelena Marie Patrice Banks; also numerous other family and friends survive. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Tuesday evening at the Luginbuel Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Luginbuel Chapel, with Pastor David Stevens officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Vinita.
