Oscar Earl Carlton, Jr. 64 year old Eucha resident, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014. Oscar has always been one of a kind beginning with his birth on January 1st, 1950 which made him very special to begin with as he was the first baby born for the new year in Claremore, OK. The New Year's baby was born to Oscar Carlton, Sr. and Helen (Morrow) Carlton. Oscar descended from a long line of Free Masons and even though he was not an active member as his father and grandfather before him, he lived his life as a generous and very kind hearted man who would help anyone in time of need. He never met a stranger and his kind heart and big smile touched so many lives over the years. Oscar was also a very hard working man. He worked maintenance for the City of Langley for 35 years, enjoyed doing yard work and loved working on his truck. An avid outdoorsman in his younger days he loved to run and did so daily across the dam. Eventually as he aged the running slowed to a walk. Oscar adored his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His love, humor and compassion will be greatly missed. Survivors include his wife Teresa Carlton of the home, children: Nora Carlton-Burton and husband Kenny of Disney, Terrie Gray of Durant, LA and Heath Carlton of Disney, 7 grandchildren: Dakota, Micheal, Summer, Kathleen, Maddison, Caleb and Scarlett, great grandson Logan Earl Hale and another great grandchild on the way, siblings: Phyllis (Carlton) Meinders and husband Dan Meinders of Edmond, OK, Eddie Carlton of Sallisaw, OK and Dian (Carlton) Wood and husband Clark Wood of Sallisaw, OK. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers; Harley Carlton and Jerry Ray Meshew. Celebration of Life services will be 3 p.m., Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the Langley City Hall.
