Pamela Gwen (Seigler) Coombes, age 62 of Vinita (Grand Lake), died Saturday, January 15, 2011. Pam was born in Washington, D.C. on December 30, 1948, the daughter of John and Sara (Tippens) Seigler. She worked as an assistant manager and bartender at a restaurant in Washington, D.C. that catered to members of the U.S. Supreme Court, senators, congressman and their staff. It was there where she met the man she would later marry. On August 15, 1985 she was united in marriage to Ted Coombes. They moved to the Grand Lake area in 2002. Pam enjoyed painting, cooking, caring for animals, traveling, and spending time with her friends and adopted nieces and nephews. She was also a certified scuba diver, a volunteer at the Animal Rescue Foundation, a travel agent, a member of Unity Church in Tulsa, a promoter of Inflammatory Breast Cancer Awareness, and could even speak some Greek. Survivors include her husband Ted Coombes, mother Sara Lou Seigler, son Douglas Shoemaker, her adopted nieces and nephews, as well as numerous friends. She is preceded in death by her father John Seigler. Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.
