Pat L. Lair, 70 year old well known Vinita resident, died early Wednesday, January 06, 2010 at the Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. He was born December 10, 1939 in Vinita to Joe L. and Millie Iona (McGehee) Lair. Pat graduated from Vinita High School in 1958. He married Darlene Kirk on March 14, 1963 at her parent's home in Vinita. Pat, along with his father and brothers, were the owners and operators of Lair and Sons Concrete from 1958 to 2000 when they sold their operation. Pat had served on Oklahoma Mining Commission, the Oklahoma Ready Mix Association, the Vinita Chamber of Commerce, Vinita all schools reunion committee, announced the Vinita High School Football games for many, many, years and worked on many other local community projects. Pat was baptized in January of 1963, by Charley Parker and was a member of the Vinita Church of Christ. He served in many capacities with the Church, including being an Elder, teacher and even a fill in minister. Pat was an avid fan of the Oklahoma State Cowboys, as well as the Vinita Hornets. He had also recently been elected and was serving on the Vinita City Council. The family includes: his wife Darlene of the Home, three children, Jeffrey Lair and wife Janet of Pryor, Joey Lair and wife Lori of Vinita, Jenny Lair of Vinita, his pet Schnauzer Tuck; his brothers, Mike Lair and wife Kaye of Grand Lake, Ben Lair and wife Bonnie of Vinita; four grandchildren, Derek Grammer, Morgan Grammer, Grant Lair and Emily Lair. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 7, 2010 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. The funeral service will be held Friday, January 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Christ west of Vinita, with Minister James Woodall officiating.
