Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita. 918-256-5555. Patricia (Pat) Meyer, died peacefully Monday morning, December 6, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is survived by her daughter, Eilleen M. Neer and grandson Charles H. Neer of Tulsa and Vinita and nieces and nephews in New York, Maryland and Montana. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband Henry A. Meyer, daughter, Kathleen P. Meyer, her parents, Cecil P. and Mary H. Conway, sisters, Eileen and Jean and a brother, James. Pat was born in New York City and spent most of her life in New York. She married Henry A. Meyer on October 7, 1950 and they settled in Massapequa, Long Island, New York where they raised their girls and started and built an early State Farm Insurance Agency in 1957. This remained a family business until 2007. Living on the south shore of Long Island offered many opportunities for swimming and boating which the family enthusiastically enjoyed at Fire Island and Greenport, Long Island. As busy as she was with family and community activities, Pat found time in the late 60's to help organize one of the first LPGA-sanctioned ladies golf associations; an accomplishment she was very proud of in her own modest way. She was an avid golfer, when women had extremely limited access to play. Later on in the mid-70's she obtained her real estate broker's license and opened New Point Realty in Massapequa. With her keen mind and pleasant way she was a natural and buyers and sellers appreciated her ability to handle their transactions. Pat moved to Vinita in the early 90's to be near her grandson. She enjoyed this small town and easily settled in. She continued to enjoy playing golf at the Vinita Country Club and Shangri-La. She enjoyed traveling, spending time in Florida, bridge club; and was a member of P. E. O. Chapter CG her in Vinita. Pat and her bright blue eyes, quick wit and fun loving attitude will be missed by friends and family and the special young people who called her Grandma Pat or Miss Pat. Her deep abiding faith and zest for life will keep her spirit alive with us. In lieu of flowers the family suggest a donation to the Endowment Fund of the First United Methodist Church, 301 West Canadian, Vinita, OK 74301. The funeral service will be held on Thursday December 8, 2016 at 11:00 AM, at the First United Methodist Church in Vinita with Pastor Randy Little officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Vinita. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com. Arrangements are by the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita.
