Patricia Morris

July 23, 1925 — January 19, 2013

Patricia Sue Morris, age 87 and longtime resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma passed away January 19, 2013 at her home. Patricia was born July 23, 1925 in Dewey, Oklahoma to Robert C. Gilson and Vera (Shull) Gilson. She was raised and attended school in Dewey. She was very active in school activities, especially the marching band. She graduated from Dewey High School in 1943. She was married to Herbert Gordon Morris on June 24, 1944 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. They made their home in Bartlesville. Patricia worked as the secretary for the Cities Services Gas Company from 1943-1944. She then began her employment with Phillips Petroleum Company and retired after more than thirty years in 1981. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and a life member of the Jane Phillip's Sorority. She enjoyed fishing, tole painting, gardening and collecting trinkets and traveling. She enjoyed being active and volunteering at her church. She was a wonderful caregiver, and was always willing to help her family and friends. Patricia is survived her husband of 68 years, Herbert Morris of the home; sister, Vera Louise Brown of Dewey; nieces, Karen and Mary Lou; nephew, David and best friend and neighbor, Ann Afdahl. She was preceded in death by her parents, aunts and uncles.
