Patricia R (Loehr) Oeltjen Blessed wife and mother fell asleep in Jesus on June 23, 2008, after suffering a long internal illness. Pat was born in Miami, Oklahoma on October 26, 1951, daughter of Adolph and Louise Loehr. She became a child of God through the waters of holy baptism on November 29, 1951 and confirmed on May 2, 1965 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church. She graduated from Miami High School in the class of 1969. She attended Northeastern Oklahoma College in Miami and later went to the University of Oklahoma in Norman. In 1973 she served as a flight attendant for United Airlines for 31 years, and retired from United in May, 2004. In her later years she served as an aide at Zion Lutheran School, Brighton and substituted at Saint Andrew Lutheran School, Denver. Pat was a devoted wife and mother, who had a special love for children in what ever settings were available, always serving children in various settings in the Lutheran Schools. Over the past 15 years she was a great support for her husband, Robert in various Lutheran churches which he served. She always expressed her strong faith in the Lord confirmed in her baptism, and served Him constantly by witnessing the Gospel of Jesus wherever she went with the sure conviction of her salvation in Christ in whose arms she now rests securely, free from the troubles of this world. Pat will be sorely missed by her husband and daughter, Heather, as well as other family members. Patricia is survived by her husband Rev. Robert Oeltjen of Denver, Colorado and her daughter SSGT Heather Sturgeon of Tucson, Arizona, USAF. Other survivors include her father Adolph (Nancy) Loehr of Grove, Oklahoma; three brothers - Dr. Anthony (Annette) Loehr of Tulsa, John (Renee) Loehr of Ronan, Montana, Randy (Debbie) Loehr of Paris, Texas; eight nieces and nephews - Michael Loehr of Dallas, Texas and Andrew Loehr of Grove, Oklahoma, Marcie Matt of Ronan, Montana, Krissy Loehr of Sumner, TX, Allison Loehr, Erica Loehr of Tulsa, Tanner Loehr of Tulsa and Gabriella Loehr of Tulsa. She is also survived by seven great nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will be 4:00 PM on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at the Fairland Lutheran Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove. The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Fairland Lutheran Cemetery Fund in Care of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
