Patricia "Pat" Lou Szalla of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away early Saturday morning, November 30, 2024, at Medicalodge of Dewey, one day after her 91st birthday.
Pat was born November 29, 1933, at Raymondville, Missouri to James A. Willhite and Jennie Avon (Shanks) Willhite. She was raised in Yukon, Missouri and attended school at Big Creek, Raymondville, Summersville and Houston, Missouri. She joined the First Methodist Church of Raymondville at an early age. After graduating high school, Pat worked for the Houston School District before moving to Bartlesville in 1953, where she worked for Ray Alburty Tire Co. and then for Phillips Petroleum Company, for the next 15 years.
Pat married Frank J. Szalla October 22, 1955, in Dewey, Oklahoma. They had two sons, Steve A. and Scott B. Szalla. After her boys were raised, she returned to work for Phillips, retiring in 1996. Pat loved raising flowers, especially irises and day lilies. She was also an avid dog lover.
Survivors include a brother, Roger Willhite of Yukon, Missouri and a niece, Joanne Resnick of Bartlesville, as well as other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Frank; by her two sons; by one brother, J.D. Willhite and her sister, Vesta Jean Brown.
Graveside services will be held 2pm, Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at White Rose Cemetery in Bartlesville with Pastor Sherman Jaquess officiating. A visitation will be Tuesday at the funeral home from 9am-8pm. Service and interment are under the direction of Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
