Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita 918-256-5555 --- Patsy Ruth (Giles) Collins, 74 year old Vinita resident, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 1, 2014 at the Craig General Hospital in Vinita. She was born on June 21, 1940 in Vinita to James Allen and Margaret Cornelia (Carter) Giles. Patsy attended and graduated in 1958 from the Vinita School System. She married the love of her life Harold D. Collins on January 24, 1959 in Afton. They lived most of their life in the Vinita area, except for 8 years when Harold's work took them to McAlester to live. Patsy worked at the First Christian Church, then many years as a secretary for Hall-Halsell elementary school, and lastly at the First National Bank in Vinita from where she retired. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Vinita. Patsy love to read romance novels, go shopping, cruising and travel, Hawaii was her favorite destination. A very important part in her life was her family, she never missed an event that one of her children, grandchildren or nieces or nephews were involved in, she was always there to be a supporter of whatever they were doing. With her grandchildren involved in so many activities in the Jenks School System, most people thought her and Harold lived there, they especially enjoyed the football games. Patsy was also very proud of her Cherokee Heritage, her family is on the original Dawes Roll. Preceding her in death were: her parents, sister, Mary Jane Wainscott, and brother, James Allen "Sonny" Giles, Jr. The family includes: her husband Harold of the home; children, Harold D. Collins, II and wife Donna, Kaye Montgomery and Husband Monty, all of Tulsa; grandchildren, Andrea Collins of Tulsa, Alec Montgomery of Stillwater, Hunter Collins of Tulsa, and Taylor Montgomery of Tulsa; a sister, Betty Sue Sutton of Miami and a brother, Roy Dean Giles of Newcastle. Also numerous, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. The memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at the Trinity Baptist Church, at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Will Busch officiating.
