Paul Ayres

Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita 918-256-5555 --- Paul T. Ayres, 86 year old Bluejacket resident, died Friday, June 6, 2014 at his home. He was born August 14, 1927 in Bluejacket to Lonnie T. and Mary (Branham) Ayres. Paul married Deloris Spunaugle on December 22, 1946 in Oswego, Kansas. He retired from B. F. Goodrich after 30 years, where he worked in the bead room. After retirement he continued work his farm raising cattle. Paul also judged rodeos, enjoyed calf roping, fishing and hunting. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bluejacket. The family includes: his wife Deloris of the home; his son, Roger Ayres, daughter, Sherry Brock and husband John, all of Bluejacket; sister, Patricia Trask of Miami; grandchildren, Paul Bryan Heflin and wife Melissa of Adair, Shanese and Tiffany Ayres of Bluejacket; great-granddaughter, Wacey Sewell and husband Rob of Verdigris. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Lois Pearl Heitzman. The funeral will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Bluejacket First Baptist Church, with Pastor Henry "Skip" McClain officiating. Interment will follow at the Bluejacket Cemetery.
