Benjamin Funeral Service - Nowata, Oklahoma Funeral services for Mrs. Pauline Maxine Mitchell of Nowata, OK, 87, are to be held at 10am, Friday, January 2, 2015, at Hillside Christian Church, Nowata, OK, with services under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Services of Nowata. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com. Pauline was born July 7, 1927, in Paola, Kansas, to Carrie and Thaddeus Brewer as the youngest of the couple's 15 children. She died December 29, 2014 at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville. Pauline grew up and graduated school from Paola, KS. On June 25, 1949, Pauline married William "Bill" Mitchell, in Osawatomie, KS. They made their home in the Nowata and Alluwe area. Pauline was a homemaker on the couple's Nowata farm. Additionally, she was a long-time member of Hillside Christian Church. Pauline's hobbies included camping and fishing with friends and family on Grand Lake. Specifically, her favorite past time was trolling for "sandies" (i.e. striped bass). Pauline and Bill enjoyed a blessed 62-year marriage before Bill's passing in 2011. Survivors include her one son, Randy Ray Mitchell, and his wife, Clara Sue Mitchell, of Warner, OK, and a granddaughter, Dr. Cassie Sue Mitchell of Atlanta, GA. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and her husband.
