ARNOLD MOORE & NEEKAMP FUNERAL HOME, BARTLESVILLE, OK (918) 336 - 5225 - Surrounded by her family, Pauline Rose Rowell Groves Wendling slipped peacefully out of this world to the spiritual world on January 6, 2017. Pauline Rose Rowell Groves Wendling was born on May 18, 1919 to Sam and Mary (Breiner) Rowell in Polson, Montana. She graduated Salutatorian in 1938 from the school in Shields, North Dakota. She worked at the military base in Spokane, Washington where she met and married Edmond Groves. Upon his discharge from the Navy, they moved to Denver Colorado. In 1955 she took a job with Tidewater Oil Company which eventually took them to Los Angeles, CA. She lived and worked in Los Angeles until Phillips 66 bought Tidewater, and she moved to Bartlesville in 1970. She worked at Phillips 66 until 1981 when she retired. She worked at the rectory of St. John Church for a short period of time after retirement where Fr. O'Neil introduced her to Oscar Wendling. Pauline and Oscar were married in Gulf Shores, Alabama in 1985. After retirement, Pauline did the things she loved; traveled the country, gardened, read and wrote poetry, and spent time with her grandchildren. From a very early age, she loved to cook. She was a great cook and made wonderful family meals. She was a long-time member of Belle's of Ireland Garden Club and St. John's Women's Association. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Mary Rowell; her husbands, Edmond Groves and Oscar Wendling; her daughter, Constance Groves Marotta Feicco; her brothers, Steve and Bruce Rowell; and her beloved sister, Anna Rowell McGregor. She is survived by her children, Barbara Groves; Tom Groves and his wife, Jeri; Mary Morris and her husband, Ron; and Jane Sears and her husband, Earl. Pauline has 12 grandchildren: Chip Johnson, DeeDee Johnson, William Marotta, Candise Marotta, Tom Marotta, Melanie Burns, Nathan Groves, Amanda Donoghue, Aaron Morris, Andrew Morris, Ryan Sears, and Hollye Hunt. Visitation will be 9:00 AM-8:00 PM on Tuesday and 9:00 AM-6:00 PM on Wednesday in the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home, 710 S. Dewey Ave. A Rosary will be said on Wednesday at 6:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 AM in St. John Before the Latin Gate Catholic Church, Bartlesville. Father Ernesto Calvillo will be the celebrant. Interment will follow the service in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home.
