Phillip Gerald “Jerry” Cox (81) went to be with the Lord at his home in Bartlesville, OK on October 5, 2022.
Jerry was born on January 28, 1941, to Elsie Irene Cox. Jerry’s grandparents, Silas and Mary (Gable) Cox raised him. He started his first job at Vanzant’s as a mechanic, and then at National Zinc until his retirement.
Jerry met the love of his life Mary, who was a soda jerk at Baldwin’s drug store. They were married in Bartlesville on September 2, 1967. Together they raised three children.
Jerry was an active member of Grace Epworth United Methodist Church until it closed, then joined East Cross UMC. He loved the Lord. He enjoyed coaching his boys’ baseball teams. You could often find him playing a round of golf at Adams Municipal Golf Course. Mostly, Jerry loved his family. He will be dearly missed.
Jerry is survived by his wife Mary, two sons Phillip Dan Cox and David Silas Cox and his wife Nikki, and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Silas and Mary, mother; Elsie, one son; Dennis Lynn Cox, and one brother.
