Memorial services for 95 year old Nowata resident, Phyllis L. Oster will be held Saturday, March 12, 2011, at 1:00 p.m., at the Benjamin Funeral Service Chapel. Rev. Dean Bridges will be officiating. Phyllis L. Oster was born January 13, 1916, in Iowa, to Clarance and Cathrine M. (Burris) Trenay. She passed from this life Monday, March 7, 2011, at Osage Nursing Center in Nowata. Phyllis was a hairdresser for most of her life. She owned and operated the Style Wise Beauty Salon in Wichita, Kansas. She was a meticulous dresser and was remembered as always being in high heels and dresses. She made sure her own hair was perfect. Her clients used to bring her teacups, saucers, and owls which she saved and collected for years. Phyllis loved to cook and her cookies and Christmas Fudge is remembered by many family members and friends. She also was an avid reader. She loved books and it was a hobby she could do her entire life. Sewing, quilting, and caring for flowers also brought her much happiness. As if this wasn't enough her love for her family was above all the things she did. Her children, nieces, nephews, and other family had special places in her heart. Her church family was close to her and she had a special love for them. She will be missed by the many family and friends that she loved. Preceding Mrs. Oster in death are her parents, husband, and one son, Meryl Dean Bennett. She is survived by two children, Gary Bennett, of Nowata, and Joyce Crisco, of Wichita, Kansas, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
