Quincy Sylvester Ross, 95, of Lenapah passed away Monday, June 3, 2013 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville, Kansas. He was born October 18, 1917 in Lenapah, Oklahoma to Lola (Gaskin) and John H. Ross. He married Edith Blanche Smith in Lenapah on November 9, 1940. Quincy was a lifelong resident of Lenapah, spending the last six years at Windsor Place in Coffeyville and was the caretaker of Gooseneck Cemetery for sixty years. He worked as a material mover for Funks Manufacturing before retiring in 1981. Quincy was also a member of the ST. Paul Baptist Church in Lenapah. Quincy is preceded in death by his parents, John and Lola Ross, his wife, Edith Ross, one brother, and one sister. He is survived by four children, Fern McDaniel of Coffeyville, Kansas, Patricia McCall and husband Matt of Gilbert, Arizona, Louise Paris of Denver, Colorado, Debbie Washington of Hutchinson, Kansas, twelve grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and other family and friends. Graveside services for Quincy Sylvester Ross are 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Gooseneck Cemetery in Lenapah with Rev. James Nave officiating.
