Quinton P. Noe Obituary Vinita, OK - Quinton Pershing Noe, 88, of Vinita, Oklahoma, passed away on November 17, 2007 at Craig General Hospital, Vinita, Oklahoma. Mr. Noe, a World War II Veteran serving in the European Theatre, receive two bronze stars in addition to the American Theatre Ribbon and the American Defense Service Medal with bronze star. Quinton was born in Somerset, Kentucky on December 26, 1918 to Michael and Laura (Farmer) Noe. He spent his school years in Harlan, Kentucky and Vinita, Oklahoma. While attending school in Vinita, he lived with his aunt and uncle, Ella and George Noe, and cousin, Mildred (Noe) Ashby. He married Jewell (Branon) Noe of Harlan, Kentucky in 1945 and they made their home in Vinita. After graduating barber college in 1946, they returned to Harlan, where he barbered at the Cumberland Barber Shop for many years. The Noes have one child. In 1964, Mr. Noe became owner/operator of a barber shop in Lexington, Kentucky. In 1969, he returned to Vinita and married Betty (Thomson) Colby. He was employed at Whitaker Children's Home in Pryor, Oklahoma. After holding several positions, including recreational director, he retired in 1984. He then opened a one-chair barber shop in Adair, Oklahoma and worked until 1998. He believed in the Catholic faith, having been baptized in the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Vinita. While living in Harlan, he was a charter member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church and an active member of the Holy Name Society. In addition to being an actor in the Little Harlan Theater, he also wrote a sports column for the local Harlan Daily Enterprise. He was an avid fisherman. Blessed with the gift of laughter, he enjoyed telling a good joke or two. Preceding him in death are his parents; one brother, McKinley; his ex-wife, Jewell; his devoted wife, Betty; a beloved cousin, Mildred Ashby and husband, Charles, and a special step-son-in-law, Jack Risner. He is survived by a daughter, Susan Harmon and Bill of Zephyrhills, Florida; a grandson, David Angel and Lorraine of Wesley Chapel, Florida; two great-grandsons, David Angel II and Brett Angel; a step-daughter, Yetta Jane Risner of Owasso, Oklahoma and a step-son, Tom Colby of Guthrie, Oklahoma. There are also several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, and very special friends, Karen and David Lee of Adair, Oklahoma. Funeral service will be held Noon, Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at Luginbuel Funeral Chapel, Vinita, with Father Greg Elliott, officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Vinita's Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.
