Ralph Pry

Ralph P. Pry, passed away at his home in Grove, OK on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at the age of 83. Ralph was born on July 4, 1930 in Terlton, OK, the son of the late Chance N. Pry and Vida B. (Friend) Pry. After school, Ralph joined the United States Army at the age of 19 serving his country from March 21, 1950 to March 20, 1953 as a demolition expert. While he was in the service, Ralph was awarded the PUE Presidential Unit Citation, ROK Republic of Korea, KSM Korea Service Medal, MUE Meritorious Unit Citation, B-Z SWC Bronze Star for Outstanding Service, and the UNSM United Nations Service Medal. After he was honorable discharged from the service, Ralph married Louella Beaver in the mid 1950's and was later divorced in 1979. Ralph went to work as a Tow Truck Driver for 19 years in Redwood, CA before returning to Oklahoma in 1979. From 1982 to 1992 he was hired by Rockwell in Tulsa as a mechanic and crane operator. Ralph retired in 1992. He married Irma Jean Smith on August 1, 1994 in Miami, OK. In 2007 the couple moved to the Grand Lake area. Ralph enjoyed hunting but especially loved to be around his family and friends. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Matilda Pry Jones and Melvina Pry; one brother Chance Arthur Pry; and one brother-in-law Albert Jones. He is survived by his wife Irma Jean of the home; his children: Kenneth Michael Pry, Timothy A. Pry, Deborah Cox, and Tammy L. Wilson; Irma's children: David Gray, Jr., Donna Jean Conely, Darrel Gray, Dianna McIntyre, and Debra York; sisters: Marie Spencer, and Betty Mix; 21 grandchildren and step grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and step great grandchildren; one step great great grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held at the Church of Christ in Grove, OK on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at 2PM with Mr. Doug Rainbolt and Mr. Lonnie Sanders, presiding. The burial will follow at the McLaughlin Cemetery in Cleora, OK. The family will greet friends on Tuesday from 6PM to 8PM at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK. Friends and family may leave notes of encouragement by viewing Ralph's Book of Memories at www.honoringmemories.com. Casket bearers will be Carl Fourier, Jedidiah Rahi, Bud McIntyre, Darrel Gray, Ronald Pearson, Robert Lynch, and David Gray, Jr.
