Randolph James 80, of Lenapah fought a courageous battle and on Sunday July 27, 2008 he crossed the finish line. Randolph James was born on March 18, 1928 in Lenapah to Noah and Eula Mae (Shufeldt) James. He received his education from Lenapah Public School. Randy joined the Army in 1946; he served in World War II and the Korean War before his honorable discharge with the rank of Sergeant. He was a talented mechanic, small or big he never came to a project he could not fix. Throughout Randy's working years he was a truck driver, bull dozier operator, and a welder, he excelled at everything he did. Randy loved to dance and was know for the wonderful stories he could tell. In the morning you could count on seeing him carrying a cup of coffee with his dog pal on his heels. Randy is survived by his six children Sam and his wife Barbara James of Iuka, Mississippi, Betty and her husband Robert Scott of St. Mary's, Georgia, Billie and her husband Barry Swanson of Geneseo, Illinois, Kimberly Smoak of Nowata, Roger and his wife Vicki James of Lenapah, and Melinda James of Lenapah, 18 grandchildren, 17.5 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Noah and Eula James, his grandparents, and 2 wives Wilma Jo Taft, and Connie Sue Still. Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Thursday July 31, 2008 in the Methodist Church in Lenapah with Rev. Lawrence Green officiating. Final committal rites will be accorded Mr. James in the Mt. Washington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Service. Visitation for Mr. James will be 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, the family will be receiving friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Benjamin's Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Cornerstone Hospice; 3414 SE Kentucky; Bartlesville, OK 74006.
