Raymond Davis

Raymond C. Davis, 82 year old Vinita resident, died Thursday evening, January 10, 2008 at the Claremore Veterans Center. Raymond was born December 24, 1926 in Welch, Oklahoma to Jessie R. and Clara (Foster) Davis. He graduated from Attucks High School in Vinita, and then served in the United States Navy. Raymond had worked for the railroad, the Hotel Vinita, and Clanton's Restaurant. He was a member of the Sunrise Baptist Church in Vinita. The family includes: his children, Raymond Davis, Jr. of Lancaster, California, Roy Davis of Vinita, Norman Davis of Vinita, Ronnie Davis of Dallas, Texas, Kenneth Davis, of Vinita, Timothy Davis of Vinita, two-step children, Elizabeth Walls and Marilyn Walls of Kansas City, Missouri; one brother Jess R. Davis of Lancaster, California, eleven grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a son Stevie Davis, his parents and a great-granddaughter Stevi Nicole Baldridge. The funeral will be held Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Robert Ramsey officiating.
