Benjamin Funeral Service - Raymond Earl Maddux, 84, of Bartlesville, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2014, at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville. He was born April 24, 1930, in Wagoner, Oklahoma to K.E. and Nola (Willis) Maddux. The family located back to the Nowata, Talala area where he grew up. Raymond graduated from Talala High School in 1948 and continued his education at OU. On July 3, 1953 he married Glenna McKay from Alluwe. Raymond worked as bookkeeper at Treat-Rite in Nowata and later had a career at Phillips Petroleum Company where he worked until his official retirement. After retirement Raymond worked with his sons at Lightning Creek Investment Group. There he was very vigilant at taking care of business and helping his boys succeed. He had an excellent work ethic and was a great asset to the business in which he worked up until the time of his death. In his spare time Raymond enjoyed gardening, he loved raising tomato plants and vegetables, and of course, OU football. Raymond loved his family and it is evidenced by the way he worked to care for each and every one of them. He will be missed by all who knew him. Mr. Maddux is preceded in death by his parents, K.E. and Nola Maddux. Survivors include his wife Glenna, of the home in Bartlesville, two sons, Richard Maddux, of Nowata, Doug Maddux and wife Rayne, of Nowata, grandchildren, Lauren Sauter and Drew Maddux, brothers, W.E. "Bill" Maddux, of Nowata, Tom Maddux, of Tulsa, Don Maddux, of Rowlett, Texas, many others as well as a host of friends. A visitation will be held at Benjamin Funeral Service, 114 W. Cherokee, Nowata, Oklahoma, on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family suggests donations to the Mary Martha Outreach, 1845 W. 4th, Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74003 or the Salvation Army.
