ARNOLD MOORE & NEEKAMP FUNERAL HOME, BARTLESVILLE, OK (918) 336-5225 - Raymond A. White, Jr., age 93 and Bartlesville resident, passed away in the Bartlesville Health & Rehab Community on Monday, February 26, 2018. Raymond Augustus White, Jr. was born March 20,1924, to Raymond A. White, Sr. and Bertha Dell Nelson White in Caney, Kansas. He attended school in Bartlesville, graduating from College High School in May of 1942. After graduation Raymond entered the Army Air Corp as an Air Traffic Controller During this time, he married Norah Louise Goulden on October 4, 1943, in South Mills, North Carolina. They were happily married for 57 years prior to her death. After completing his service with the military, he and Norah moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma to raise their family. In 1956, Raymond and Norah both contracted Polio and spent time in St. John Hospital In Tulsa, Oklahoma. Their children were the first in Oklahoma to receive the polio vaccine. Raymond was employed by Cities Service Oil Company in Bartlesville. Cities Service was making plans to close their Bartlesville offices and It was during that time that Raymond became employed with Phillips Petroleum Company as the Air Traffic Controller, Secretary and Service Advisor. He continued his employment with Phillips until his retirement. Raymond was an avid wood carver and enjoyed sharing his love of this art form. He had pieces on display through the years, having studied under Willard Stone and Calvin Berry. He participated in Day Break for over 20 years and made many wonderful friends who still remember him fondly Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Bertha White; his wife, Norah; son, Terry R. White; and three siblings. He is survived by daughter, Lynn White and partner, John Simpson, of San Antonio, Texas; son, David White and partner, Linda Adams, of Bartlesville; daughter, Cindy White Alford and husband, Alan, of Bartlesville; daughter-in-law, Erma McNeff White, of Bartlesville; 15 grand-children, 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests charitable donations in Raymond's memory be sent to East Cross United Methodist Church, 820 S.E. Madison Blvd., Bartlesville, OK 74006 Come and go visitation will be held on Thursday and Friday from 9:00 AM-8:00 PM in the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home, 710 S. Dewey Ave. Family will be present to greet friends on Friday from 6:00-8:00 PM. Services will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the East Cross United Methodist Church, Bartlesville. Pastor Jeff Burress will be the officiant. Interment will follow the service in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home.
