Raymond Claude Wilson, 86, Nowata resident formerly of Delaware, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014 in Bartlesville. He was born December 27, 1927 in Kinta, Oklahoma to Susie (Shrepshire) and Claude W. Webber. Ray was a World War II South Pacific veteran serving in Japan. His occupations consisted of working in the oil fields, managing H.E. Ketchum Hardware in Delaware for many years, Peabody Coal and Raymond's Small Engine Repair. He loved fishing, playing the steel guitar, and football. He was a member of the Delaware First Baptist Church of Delaware, OK. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Hayes Wilson of 59 years; children, James Jones of Airway Heights, WA., Sarah Thornburgh and husband Bob of Swink, OK., Pam Palone and husband Nick of South Coffeyville, OK., John Wilson and wife Connie of Nowata, OK., Karen Palone and husband John of South Coffeyville, OK., sixteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Susie; brothers, Elbert (Buster) and James; sisters, Georgia, June, Virginia, Irene, and Gladys Noss who died on January 30, 2014, eight hours after Ray's passing. Funeral services for Raymond Wilson are 2:00 P.M., Monday, February 3, 2014 at the Delaware First Baptist Church with Pastor Tom Tanquary officiating. Interment will follow at Ball Cemetery in Childers. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com. Memorials in Raymond's name may be sent to Delaware First Baptist Church.
