Rebecca "Becky" Barlass, 70 year old Adair area resident, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at her home. She was born on August 23, 1945 in Vicksburg, Mississippi to Ollie and Lula Mae (Whatley) Hall. Becky attended school in Redwood, Mississippi. She married Walter David Barlass on May 2, 1966 in Vinita at the Presbyterian Church. Becky was the owner/operator of the Git-n-Split convenience store in Big Cabin for 20 years, starting in 1977. She loved to cook and read cook books, tend to her flower garden and trying different olive oils. Becky was a member of the Big Cabin Country Club and attended Big Cabin Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother Billy Hall. The family includes: her husband, Walter D. Barlass of the home; children, Chris Barlass and wife Angella of Big Cabin, Janece Russell and husband Eddie of Pryor, Mark Barlass and wife Karen of Adair, Wendy Wofford and husband Kevin of Vinita, Brian Barlass of Neosho, Missouri, Tonya Combs and husband Lance of Jenks; a sister, Laura Hall-Day of Redwood, Mississippi; thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and one on the way. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Wednesday evening January 13, 2016, at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. The funeral will held on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Big Cabin Baptist Church with Pastor Shane Culp officiating. Interment will follow at the Big Cabin Cemetery.
