Rebecca B. Parkin, age 90, passed away Monday October 31, 2022, at her home in Bartlesville, OK surrounded by family.
Rebecca was born July 27, 1932, in Climax, Kansas to Louie and Artie (Anderson) Bate. She grew up and received her education in Climax.
After graduating high school, she attended nursing school for a year and a half. She withdrew from school to marry William George Parkin, in Eldorado, Kansas on April 20, 1952. They remained together for 53 years until his death, living at Twin Falls, Idaho, Salt Lake City Utah, Grants, New Mexico and Borger, Texas before settling in Bartlesville Okllahoma.
Rebecca worked several years at John’s True Value Hardware.
Rebecca was an avid tennis player, starting in high school and continuing until she was 70. She also participated in volleyball and bowling. Other activities included cross stitch, building and furnishing doll houses, coloring books, jigsaw puzzles, extensive readimg and even a little woodcarving.
Rebecca was survived by son, Chuck Parkin and his wife Nena: daughters Lynn Atkinson and Susan Seaver; bonus daughter Maritza Gomez; grandchildren Rosanina Ketchum and her husband Greg, Angie Highfield and her husband Derrick, Shane Walker and his fiancée Shandel Felts; bonus grandchildren Falon Gomez and her fiancée Heath Deaton, Bella Gomez, Hector Aguilar, Guido Gomez; and great grandchildren Marisa, Elijah, Adrian, Mateo, Mia, Isabella, Sofia, Keira, Emery, Elias, Aven and Hazley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louie and Artie, her brother Bert Bate, her sister Joyce Jones and her husband William Parkin.
