Retha Nora McElhaney 97 year old, Wyandotte, Oklahoma, resident passed away Monday, April 2, 2012. Retha was born on December 7, 1914 in Beggs, Oklahoma to Jake and Virgie (Tosh) Marler. Retha was a homemaker most of her life. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting as well as gardening, especially irises and was a member of the Turkey Ford Assembly of God Church. Retha married Kenneth McElhaney on December 14, 1935 in Neosho, Missouri. Retha was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth McElhaney, a brother, Raymond Tosh and a sister, Juanita Tosh. Retha is survived by two sons, Larry McElhaney of Wyandotte, Oklahoma, and Jerry McElhaney of Miami, Oklahoma, two daughters, Beva Pace of Quapaw, Oklahoma, and Delores Bartley, of Council House, Oklahoma, three sisters, Edith, Burleson of Wyandotte, Oklahoma, Bonnie Frost of Paris, Texas, and Joyce Osbourn of Quapaw, Oklahoma. Retha is also survived by eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren. Funeral services for Retha will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Council House Cemetery. A visitation for Retha will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday April 3, 2012 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma.
