Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita 918-256-5555, Retta Cheryl Coppedge-McDougal, 70 year old Vinita resident, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at her home. She was born on March 17, 1944 in Tulsa to Rayburn Marlin Ramsey and Clifford Lahoma (Sanders) Ramsey. Cheryl was a graduate of Tulsa Union High School and received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Northeastern State in Tahlequah. She had lived in Pryor before moving to Vinita 17 years ago. Cheryl worked in the education department for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. She assisted inmates in getting their GED's and other educational goals. Cheryl enjoyed oil painting nature and landscape scenes, travelling and camping trips and getting together with her family. The family includes: her husband Jim McDougal of the home; a son Aaron Coppedge and wife Karen of St. Louis, MO, a daughter, Dena Partain of Tulsa; step-children, Michael and Callie McDougal of Norman, Diane and Jerry Williams of Bluejacket, Jeannie McDougal of Vinita; a brother, Clifford Ramsey and wife Lynda of Blue Springs, MO, a sister, Linda Tayrien and husband David of Grove; grandchildren, Matthew Coppedge, Drew, Alex and Bailey Partain; numerous step-grandchildren and other family members. The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. The graveside service will be held on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Claremore with Chaplain Roger Miller officiating. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com. Friends may give to the Rivercross Hospice, Craig County Cancer Outreach or the Chicks and Chaps. Arrangements are by the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita.
