Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Home - Langley - 918-782-4400...... Rex Allen Chandler, 50 year old Ketchum resident, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017. Rex was born in Grove on September 6, 1966 to Preston and Johana (Browning) Chandler. He held several jobs throughout his life but his most memorable job was laying asphalt for Paul Baker Construction and most recently volunteer referee and referee critic from the stands and his couch. His hobbies include anything with his boys including attending all of their sporting events throughout the years, arrowhead hunting, hunting for morel mushrooms, camping, fishing and spending time with his friends. He was an avid NASCAR, OU and OKC Thunder fan and loved watching just about any sport. Whenever Rex was around, everyone knew it because of his loud voice. He was always happy and smiling and bragging about his boys. They were the highlight of his life. Survivors include his wife Debby Chandler and sons Hunter and Austin Chandler of the home, mother Johana Palmerlee of Cleora, brothers: Wayne Smith and Don Smith of Cleora and Tom Smith of Tijuana, "adopted" parents Paul and Cheryl Baker, numerous nieces and nephews and his father-in-law Mickey Leaf and numerous brother and sister-in-laws. He was preceded in death by his brother Skip Chandler, father Preston Chandler, step-father Don Palmerlee, and mother-in-law Gladis Leaf. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, February 24, 2017 at the First Southern Baptist Church in Ketchum with Pastor Kevin Lancaster officiating. Interment will follow at McLaughlin Cemetery.
