Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay, Oklahoma, 918-253-3222. Richard Wayne Blackbear, 67year old resident of Eucha, Oklahoma, passed away on October 12, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Richard was born on January 30, 1949 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He was the son of Jim and Mary (Levi) Blackbear. Richard proudly served the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Richard enjoyed the outdoors including fishing, hunting, working on cars, picking huckleberries, camping, and paddle boats. Richard loved just driving around. He was a "handy-man" that could fix just about anything. Richard could read and write the Cherokee language, and spent a lot of time reading his Bible that is published in Cherokee. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, and five brothers; Jimmy Blackbear, Gerald Blackbear, John Blackbear, Joseph Blackbear and Diana Williams. He is survived by his children Cara Hawley (Jamie Crockett), Laverna Stapleton, Elisha Blackbear (Vince Bluebird) and Forrest Blackbear (Jennifer). Richard leaves behind his brother Jerry Williams, and three sisters; Margaret Goins, Lois Blackbear and Marie Weeley (Leo). Richard was blessed with fourteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 PM, Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay, Oklahoma. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday at Steeley Church in Kenwood, Oklahoma. Richard will be laid to rest in Yellow Tree Cemetery.
