Richard Coombe

Richard Jay “Dick” Coombe (82) passed away at his home in Bartlesville, OK Wednesday, September 22, 2021.

Dick was born March 5, 1939, in Barnesville, Pennsylvania to Raymond Paul Coombe and Lillian (Bott) Coombe.  After high school, Dick began working for his brother and shortly thereafter, joined the United States Air Force.  After his honorable discharge in 1965, he became an agent for Prudential Insurance.  Dick retired from Prudential in 1995 and opened his own agency.  He married Mary E. Martin on Valentine’s Day, 2003 at Dacono, Colorado.  The couple lived in Johnstown, Colorado for nine years before moving to Bartlesville in 2012.  He was a member of Bartlesville’s Memorial Christian Church.

Dick is survived by his wife, Mary Coombe of the home; two sons, Richard Coombe of Oklahoma City and David Coombe and his wife, Christy of Oklahoma City; one daughter, Shelly Carpenter and her husband, Chris of Arvada, Colorado; four step-children, Kevin Martin and his wife, Dawnelle of Bartlesville, Michael Martin and his wife, Lynn of Boulder, Colorado, Lynn Martin and his wife, Linda of Frederick, Colorado and Rhonda Rice and her husband, Randy of Evan, Colorado; seven grandchildren, Ryan, Megan, Maddie, Jessica, Stephanie, Hannah and Nathanial; seven step-grandchildren, Alicia, Kayla, Kris, Hannah, Scott, Ben and Angelina; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and the mother of his children, Carolyn Coombe.  Dick was preceded in death by his parents; by three brothers and one sister and a daughter-in-law.
