Richard Grumbein

Richard Adair Grumbein, age 77 of Vinita, died Saturday, November 20, 2010. Richard was born in Brownell, Kansas on June 20, 1933 the son of Merle and Bertha (Sunley) Grumbein. He graduated from Cleora High School in 1952. On August 30 of that same year he was united in marriage to Dorothy Lee Brown. He worked for Pro Am and Napa prior to retiring to care for his farm. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vinita where he served as a deacon. Richard enjoyed visiting with family and friends and could be found at the sale barn every Wednesday. Survivors include his wife Dorothy of the home, son Rick Lee Grumbein and wife Darla of Vinita, granddaughters Rebecca Kendall and husband Raymond of Adair, and Shannon Haire and husband Justin of Vinita, great grandchildren: Lexi and Rory Kendall of Vinita, Dylan, Kody, and Gage Miller of Adair, Jak Kuder of Adair, Kaily and Bo Gilbert of Vinita, Austin and Emma Haire of Vinita, great great granddaughter JayLynn of Independence, KS, brothers Earl Grumbein of Vinita, George Grumbein of Georgia, Ed Grumbein of Claremore, sisters Marie Cole of Vinita, and Helen Wingard of Pryor. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister Betty Wolfe. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, November 22, 2010 at the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Vinita with Pastor Skip McClain and Steve Holland officiating. Pallbearers will be: Bill Winderweedle, Jerry Legg, Eldon Sunday, Ray Flaming, Ken Flaming, Dennis Woodall, Jeff Williams, Ray Hoodenpyle, and Don Broyles. Interment will follow at McLaughlin Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com
