Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay, OK....918-253-3222....Richard Harris, age 79, passed away on December 1, 2014 at the Veterans Hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Richard was born on February 28, 1935 in Sacramento, California, and moved to Delaware County at an early age. Richard was a graduate of Watts High school. After graduation Richard was united in marriage to Reba Lee McChristian in 1957 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Richard then proudly served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959. He then worked for Jones Tires, owned a Texaco Station, and then retired from Gates Rubber Manufacturing. Richard had gone back to school taking classes at Northeastern State. Richard like to build cars and race them, he ‘loved' Corvettes. He also enjoyed trains and guns. Richard was preceded in death by his mother Helen Breeden Chaney and sister Gloria Glass. Richard is survived by his wife Reba Harris, two children Tamhra Shawver and her husband Keith, Pamela Hendren and her husband Johnny. Richard was blessed with four grandchildren; Chase Shawver, Jade Shawver, Rick Hendren and Miranda Edwards; five great grandchildren, Hunter Hendren, Randy Davidson, Mia Still, Abran Still, Jace Hendren and many more relatives and friends. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 pm, Wednesday, December 3, 2014, Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 pm, Thursday, December 4, 2014 both at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, Oklahoma with Reverend Mike Walker officiating. Richard will be laid to rest in Mt. Hermon Cemetery, with military honors from Fort Sill Honor Guard.
