Richard Logan

October 8, 1918 — February 16, 2009

Richard S. Logan, 90, a longtime resident of Bartlesville, died Monday, February 16, 2009 in St. Louis Missouri. Husband of the late Peggy Blackburn Logan; loving father of William R. Logan, M.D. (Ann); "Papa" of David, Tom, Mary, John, Beth and Claire. Our dear brother, cousin, dancing partner, and friend. Dick was born in Carthage, Missouri to William Rozelle and Frances Sutton Logan on October 6, 1918. He was a graduate of Carthage (MO) High School and the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Engineering. Dick and Peggy were married on February 21, 1948 in Joplin, MO. He was a World War II veteran, brother of Sigma Nu, retiree of Phillips Petroleum (Research and Development), member of Hillcrest Country Club and he logged over 5,700 miles in the Phillips pool. Special thanks to the staffs of Brooking Park and Companion Home Care, as well as the Doctors Tempel and Sanders. Funeral rite and interment at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Bartlesville, OK, on Saturday, March 21 at 1:00 pm. With The Rev. Dr. T. Lee Stephens officiating. The family will receive friends in the Metcalf Hall following the service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Cherokee Area Council of Boy Scouts of America, 520 South Quapaw Avenue, Bartlesville, Ok 74003.
