Richard Murphy

Richard Daniel Murphy, 62, Senior Master Sergeant, Richard D. Murphy (Dan), U.S. Air Force, Retired, age 62, of Universal City, TX passed away September 30, 2009 at the Brooke Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Dan retired from the Air Force after many years of service as a jet engine mechanic. His passion for art drove him to return to school after his retirement and he earned a Bachelor's of Fine Arts Degree from UTSA. He also enjoyed collecting model cars as a hobby. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda S. Murphy; 1 son, Ryan Murphy of San Antonio, TX; 1 daughter, Erin Murphy of Cedar Park, TX; 2 brothers, Dennis Murphy & wife, Lenda of Moore, OK and Derek Murphy & wife, Susan of Bartlesville, OK and numerous other extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard & Irene Murphy. Graveside memorial services are scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 10 , 2009 at the Ball Cemetery in Childers, Oklahoma.
