Luginbuel Funeral Home - Vinita - 918-256-5555......... Richard "Cortie" Pittman, 66, went to be with the Lord Monday, August 15, 2016. Cortie was born in Tulsa on October 2, 1949 and lived in "Mingo" through his school years. He then lived in Tulsa until he moved in 2003 to Woodland Shores on Grand Lake. He graduated from East Central High School in 1968. He served in the Oklahoma Air National Guard 138th FTW in Tulsa as a fire fighter for Aircraft Crash Fire and Rescue from 1968 - 1999 and retired at the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. During that same time frame he was employed with Federal Civil Service as the full time Fire Chief for the Oklahoma Air National Guard in Tulsa. One of Cortie's passions was to share his faith in God with anyone who would stand still long enough for him to talk. He was a member of the First Christian Church and started bibles study groups at Woodland Shores, First Christian Church in Langley, and First Christian Church in Vinita. Survivors include his wife Charlotte "Prissy" Pittman of the home, children: Jason Craporotta and wife Kelley of Enid, Justin Craparotta of Enid, sister Sue Pyle and husband Ernie of Arlington, TX, brothers: Gary Pittman of Catoosa, Dale Pittman and wife Linda of Pittsboro, IN, grandchildren Chloe Craparotta, Chase Craparotta, and Paige Kinas. He was preceded in death by his parents Mildred and Carl Porter and daughter Brooke Pittman Kinas. Memorial services will be 11 a.m., Monday August 22, 2016 at the First Christian Church of Vinita with Pastor Gary Graham officiating. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be sent to any cancer research or domestic violence organization. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.
