Rilla Juanita Crawford, 96 year-old Cleora resident, went to be with her Lord on May 12th, 2008 at her home. She was born May 17, 1911 in Zena to Albert and Ora (Waldroop) Smith. Rilla was married to Charles R. Crawford on August 14, 1930 at Bentonville, Arkansas. They made their home on a farm at Cleora and remained there for more than 77 years. Rilla and Charles had two sons, Charles M. and Loyd A. Crawford. Rilla was an active and charter member of the Cleora Baptist Church, and was a Sunday school for many years. She also liked to fish, garden, can vegetables, and cooking for her family, she was a very dedicated home maker. Rilla was preceded in death by her husband Charles on December 13, 1997. The family includes; two sons, Charles M. Crawford and wife Sylvia, Loyd A. Crawford and wife Jeannie all of Cleora, one brother Palmer Smith of Commerce, eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Casket bearers will be Jerry, John, Steve, Kelly, Kenneth, and Dustin Crawford. The funeral will be held Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cleora Baptist Church, with Pastor Loyd Crawford officiating, assisted by Pastor David Pifer. Interment will follow at the McLaughlin Cemetery at Cleora. Friends may give to the Cleora Baptist Church. Online condolences may be done at www.honoringmemories.com.
